Frequently Asked Questions

The Essentials
LOT is a curated marketplace for pre-owned designer furniture, lighting and objects. We make it simple to buy exceptional pieces with confidence — and to sell without the friction of auctions or traditional resellers.
Sellers list an item (photos + details + price) and we review it before it goes live.
Buyers can buy outright or make an offer.
Once sold, we support the handover and delivery process, and keep everything moving through to completion.
No — items are listed with clear pricing, and some listings allow offers. There’s no bidding war, no hidden buyer’s premium surprises, and no “wait and see”.
Buying on LOT
If the item is available, you can purchase directly from the product page. You’ll receive an order confirmation email immediately after checkout.
Yes — where enabled, you’ll see a “Make an Offer” option on the product page. If your offer is accepted, we’ll confirm next steps by email.
Of course. Use the enquiry form on the product page and we’ll come back to you as quickly as possible with any details we can confirm with the seller.
We review listings before they go live and may request additional photos, provenance, or detail shots where needed. However, unless explicitly stated, LOT does not provide formal third-party authentication certificates.
Because items can sell quickly, we can’t guarantee holds. If you’re ready to proceed, checkout is the best way to secure the piece.
Payments & Delivery
You can checkout as a guest, but creating a buyer account lets you view your order history and manage key details more easily.
Should the seller not fulfil their obligations: Your payment is processed securely at checkout and LOT holds on to this until receipt of goods has been confirmed, allowing us to refund your money,
Delivery is arranged and paid for by the seller, after the item is purchased.
Buyers can choose to arrange insured delivery themselves, or pay £25 plus VAT at checkout for LOT to find them the most suitable delivery quotes, depending on the buyer's needs and circumstances.
Delivery is typically paid by the buyer and depends on item size, access, packaging requirements, and distance.
Delivery is always arranged between buyers and sellers, so international delivery depends on what can be agreed. In many cases, yes. International deliveries may involve additional customs, duties, and longer lead times. You can ask sellers this question before purchase.
Returns & condition
Because LOT sells pre-owned items, returns are generally not accepted unless the item is materially not as described, or arrives damaged due to delivery handling. If something isn’t right, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we’ll help resolve it quickly.
Each listing includes condition notes and photos. Expect natural signs of age and use unless stated “New”. If condition is important to you, message us before buying and we’ll try to confirm specifics with the seller.
Notify us within 48 hours with photos of the packaging and damage. We’ll work with the courier and the seller to resolve the issue.
