An original 1980s Mamete table, designed by Marcello Minale and Graham Simpson for Zanotta, with its original Zanotta – Made in Italy maker’s mark. The Mamete is a classic, a wonderfully simple and clever piece of design. Its distinctive wooden trestle base slots together without fixings to create the structure supporting the large white laminate top.

The whole table can be completely dismantled for transport — rather like an ingenious designer flat-pack.

The wooden base is in excellent original condition. The white laminate top shows honest signs of its working life, with some chips to the edges and underside, including one corner chip. These are shown clearly in the photographs. It weighs appx 30kg More than forty years on, the Mamete is still a striking piece of design — simple, ingenious and made to be used.
