LOT 710A black lacquerdining table set from Ico Parisi consisting of 6 black lacquer dining chairs upholstered in white leather, and one black lacquer dining table.
Domenico Parisi was an Italian designer who worked towards utopian living for all. He was nicknamed Ico. Parisi's long career started through working alongside architects and designers, including Cattaneo, Lingeri, Radice, Rho, Persico and Sartoris. He then progressed opening his own studio, La Ruota with his wife Luisa Aiani; where they specialised in design, art and exhibitions.
In the late '60s he started to present idealist, utopian views, showcasing them at the Milan Furniture Fair, through a sculpture created with Francesco Somaini. These ideas culminated in his "Operazione Arcevia", a project aimed at designing an entire community. The work was presented at the 76th Biennale of Venice and subsequently exhibited at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome (1979).
